Job Title: Occupational Therapist

LHC Group is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to join our team in Carrboro, North Carolina.

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to provide age-appropriate services for adult to geriatric patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for comprehensive assessments, direct treatment to individuals and groups, and development of home exercise programs.

Responsibilities
  • Completes comprehensive initial evaluations on each patient in a timely manner.
  • Evaluates patients to determine rehab potential, identifies needs, establishes individualized treatment plans, and sets goals.
  • Collaborates with patients and families in goal setting and achievement.
  • Schedules patients at appropriate times for therapy.
  • Identifies patient and family education needs.
  • Collaborates with the team to establish interdisciplinary team goals.
  • Utilizes equipment in a proper and safe manner and maintains equipment inspection, maintenance, and cleaning logs.
  • Follows medical regimens developed for patients and adheres to precautions.
  • Utilizes safe treatment techniques, such as transfers, positioning, feeding, splinting, paraffin bath, cryotherapy, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound.
  • Completes documentation for each visit type and documents units of treatment in the EMR.
  • Completes D/C summaries for each patient on their final visit to outpatient OT.
  • Participates in department team meetings, conducts in-services for other staff members, and assists in the interview process for new therapy department employees.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy and successful completion of the National Registry exam.
  • CPR certification and all other certifications and documents as required per LHC Group policy.
  • Current license in Occupational Therapy in the state of practice.
