Home Based Educator

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Home Based Educator to join our team at Mid Michigan Community Action Agency. As a Home Based Educator, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality early childhood education and family support services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Program Implementation
- Assist in the coordination and implementation of the Early Head Start program, ensuring compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and state and federal mandates.
- Ensure quality program service delivery, protecting the privacy of customers/families and maintaining confidentiality of all information obtained in the course of service.
- Family Support and Education
- Provide weekly in-home visits with families, promoting effective parent-child interactions and supporting the development of a nurturing home environment.
- Execute identified home-based curriculum to fidelity, facilitating family partnership agreements and parent, family, community engagement goal assessments.
- Conduct ongoing child assessments, using results to plan for individualization and inform program decisions.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Work collaboratively with community partners, Early Head Start Home Based Program Supervisor, and Early Head Start Home Based Program Coordinator to deliver quality services and meet program goals.
- Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and supervisors, ensuring seamless coordination and support.
- Administrative and Reporting
- Accurately complete required program documentation and record keeping, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to agency policies.
- Input data into program databases, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field.
- Minimum of 1-year experience working with young children and families, preferably in an Early Head Start/Head Start setting.
- Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work cooperatively as a team leader and team member.
- Demonstrated ability to present information to community groups and work effectively with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of 0-5 Curriculum/Teaching Strategies Gold/Child Plus preferred.
- Additional Requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility to adapt to changing program needs.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance required.
