Job Summary

Chelsea Jewish Lifecare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our Resident Life team at the Harriet and Ralph Kaplan Estates in Peabody, MA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a social and recreational program for residents in our memory care community, catering to their health and wellness, educational/cognitive, creative, sensory motor, and social needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the Resident Life Director to plan, organize, and execute a balanced enrichment program for residents with dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
  • Engage with residents, encouraging and motivating them to participate in activities, and escorting them to and from events.
  • Utilize technology to enhance experiences for residents during activities, promoting engagement and inclusivity.
  • Complete initial resident engagement surveys to better understand their needs and preferences.
  • Perform administrative duties, including data entry and record-keeping, to support the Resident Life team.
  • Provide one-on-one visits with residents who prefer to remain in their apartments, fostering meaningful connections and relationships.
  • Communicate effectively with families and employees in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Drive the community van to and from recreational outings, assisting residents with transfers and ensuring their safety.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the Director of Resident Life, supporting the overall mission and goals of Chelsea Jewish Lifecare.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working in an assisted living or skilled nursing facility.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Publisher, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to meet company requirements to become an approved driver of our van.
  • Flexibility to work one day of the weekend.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, and lift or carry weight up to 50 pounds.
