Medical Assistant Job Overview

As a Clinical Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients at the Texas Back Institute.


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing patients for examinations and treatments, taking patient histories and vital signs, and assisting physicians with minor surgeries and physicals.


Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Preparation: Ensure that patients are comfortable and prepared for examinations and treatments by taking accurate vital signs and medical histories.
  • Assisting Physicians: Assist physicians with minor surgeries, physicals, and other medical procedures as needed.
  • Lab Testing and Phlebotomy: Conduct lab tests and phlebotomy services as required.
  • Administrative Tasks: Answer phone calls, screen referrals, and perform other administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Education and Certification: High school diploma or equivalent required; graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or one year of direct clinical patient care experience preferred. Current Medical Assistant certification (RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, or NCRMA) is highly desirable.
  • Skills and Experience: One year of Medical work experience; ability to lift 50 pounds; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
