About the Role

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing all journal entries, account schedules, and general accounting for assigned portfolios. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Office products, particularly Excel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and monitor ACH/wire transfers and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare and process journal entries, including standard recurring entries accounting for bi-weekly payroll, recording cash receipts, monthly accruals, etc.
  • Review trial balances to ensure accuracy and prepare supporting account schedules
  • Analyze and resolve all open or reconciling items on accounts schedules in a timely manner
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reports, including dashboards, variance analysis, financial statements, Owner's reports, etc.
  • Determine current cash positions and project future needs to ensure balances will be sufficient to pay bills
  • Prepare applicable state/local tax filings as needed
  • Provide other analysis/reporting as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required. Accounting, Finance, or Math major preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year accounting industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of general ledger, ACH/wire transfers, and bank reconciliations, trial balance, and supporting account schedules, financial statements, and other management reports
  • Proficiency in MS Office products, with advanced working knowledge with Excel
  • Yardi experience is a plus
  • Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and analytical
  • Ability to communicate clearly and coordinate with various teams and departments
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time throughout assigned projects is a possibility, but not required
  • Active and valid driver's license required
