ROLE OVERVIEW

The Boston Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Client Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Client Development Senior Manager Team, you will provide strategic support to Client Coordinating Officers (CCOs) and client account teams for our largest and most complex clients. Your primary responsibility will be to drive the account planning process, manage the business pipeline, and develop the account marketing strategy. You will also serve as an expert client resource, maintaining robust client information and knowledge, and creating and measuring value on the account. Additionally, you will lead and orchestrate quality account teaming, cultivating close partnerships with internal, functional supporting teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Drive the account planning process, including constructing a comprehensive client account plan and ensuring effective execution of the account plan.
  • Manage the business pipeline, including developing and maintaining the client relationship map and ensuring a robust engagement strategy for key relationships.
  • Develop and implement the account marketing plan, including event invitation strategy and management and distribution of thought leadership.
  • Serve as an expert client resource, maintaining baseline/background client information and tracking broader industry trends and changes.
  • Create and measure value on the account, including coordinating and managing feedback from clients and selectively engaging with the client directly.
  • Lead and orchestrate quality account teaming, including serving as a thought partner to the CCO and Partner team and ensuring effective communication and coordination of various Partners and consulting team members.
  • Cultivate close partnerships with internal, functional supporting teams, including acting as a key account team liaison across BCG's internal functions.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 10+ years of working in a professional services firm with experience in account management and client development; consulting background preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree/MBA preferred.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; strong computer literacy and facility with numbers.
  • Comfortable communicating in direct client interactions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and entrepreneurial drive.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels and functions of the organization.
  • Good organizational skills and effective management skills to manage multiple parallel tasks, ability to set priorities.
  • Proactive, creative, self-starter.
  • Able to prioritize, able to tolerate ambiguity.
  • Exercises judgment in handling confidential/sensitive information; trustworthy.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

You'll sit in our Client Development Senior Manager Team, which is part of the NAMR Client Team. The CDSM team was formed over six years ago in order to provide more direct support to our CCOs/Account teams of our largest and most complex accounts. The team is currently made up of ~20 CDSMs and CD Operations Managers based all over the NAMR region. You'll partner closely with our other NAMR Client Team members, including members of our Global Client Team. In addition, you'll also collaborate with colleagues from across the organization, including Finance and PAs/ABMs.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, contributions to BCG's Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund (PSRF), and a market leading benefits package described below.

  • In New York state the base salary is between $140,000-$171,000 (USD); placement within this range will vary based on experience and skill level.
  • In other locations, competitive pay is commensurate with the role and geography.
  • Annual discretionary performance bonus between 0-20%.
  • 5% Profit Sharing Retirement Fund (PSRF) contribution, increasing to 10% after two years of service. Contributions are vested immediately and there is no waiting period.
