Position Summary:

The Section Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing the daily functions of their assigned section, ensuring that all operations are carried out smoothly and effectively. This position requires collaboration with multiple teams, resource management, and adherence to organizational policies and procedures. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational capabilities, strong communication skills, and a proactive mindset towards resolving issues.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct statistical procedures and evaluate testing samples.
  • Implement quality control measures according to established protocols and complete necessary documentation.
  • Support the supervisor and/or department head in cultivating talent to meet regulatory agency standards (e.g., CAP).
  • Assist in the training of departmental staff.
  • Assess, prioritize, and manage laboratory testing based on accurate patient data, staff competency evaluations, productivity benchmarks, recognized care standards, and departmental policies.
  • Provide insights and updates to the Laboratory Manager regarding overall operational performance.
  • Exhibit leadership qualities by setting a positive example, fostering effective relationships, and encouraging collaboration to successfully deliver departmental services.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Science is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology is required.
  • Possession of a State of Florida Technologist License.
  • ASCP certification is essential.
  • A minimum of 3 years of prior experience as a Medical Technologist, preferably in a leadership capacity.
  • Supervisory license is preferred.
