Job Title: Team Manager

At National Life Group, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Manager to join our team. As a Team Manager, you will be responsible for providing inspirational leadership to a team responsible for making in-force policy changes that reflect clear ownership and beneficiary designations for life insurance policies as well as line of business and other in-force policy changes for annuities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive Team Objectives: Plan, organize, and direct team members to execute team objectives, service delivery, and expectations.
  • Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning to develop departmental operational plans to maximize the department's efficiency, productivity, and performance.
  • Talent Development: Develop an internal talent pipeline by setting team and individual goals, coaching for performance, and individual growth and development.
  • Operational Excellence: Identify areas for improvement and drive operational excellence.
  • Stakeholder Partnerships: Partner with stakeholders across the organization to drive larger initiatives and champion successful change implementation to create value.
  • Process Monitoring: Ensure the team is following established processes, monitoring, and maintaining service standards and compliance-based requirements.
  • Culture Alignment: Accountable and holds others accountable to reflect our company's Do Good, Be Good, Make Good culture in how they show up and perform their daily tasks and interact with others.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and support team members on complex cases.
  • Problem-Solving: Collaborate with stakeholders to find effective solutions to service issues that get to the root cause of issues.
Job Requirements:
  • Business Experience: 3-5 years of business experience in the life and annuity industry preferred; solid understanding of distribution, marketing, and operations.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • On-Site Presence: On-site presence is required.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to influence and make connections between diverse sets of individuals.
  • Customer Focus: Unwavering customer-focus with a keen appreciation for the needs and interests of our distribution partners and buying customers.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and critical thinking; ability to anticipate challenges, get things done, break down barriers, identify, and execute solutions that will achieve organizational goals.
  • Communication Skills: Top-notch communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Continuous Improvement: Commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Discretion and Judgment: Exercises tact, discretion, and good judgment while working under pressure to get things done quickly and effectively through others.
  • Background Check: Ability to successfully pass a background check.

The base compensation range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.

Other rewards may include an annual bonus, quarterly bonuses, commissions, and other long-term incentive compensation, depending on the position. National Life offers a competitive total rewards package which includes: a 401(k) retirement plan match; medical, dental, and vision insurance; a company-funded wellness account for director and below employees; 10 paid holidays; a generous paid time-off plan (22 days of combined time-off for non-exempt employees and exempt employees have discretion in managing their time, including scheduling time-off in the normal course of business, but in no event will exempt employees receive less sick time than required by state or local law); 6 weeks of paid parental leave; and 6 weeks of paid family leave after a year of full-time employment.
