Medical Office Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Office Assistant to join our team at UNC Health. As a Medical Office Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Process patient check-in and check-out procedures, financial information, and patient billing information.
- Provide accurate and timely information to patients, families, and visitors.
- Schedule patient appointments and enter demographic and clinical information into the system.
- Order and maintain clinical supplies, office supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain compliance with established safety and regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA, OSHA, and infection prevention policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- No licensure or certification required.
- Prefer completion of an accredited medical administrative assisting program and previous experience in a medical office.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of patients, or employees of the organization.
This position is employed by NC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System.
This is not a State employed position.
