Electrical Automation Engineer Position

Job Title: Electrical Automation Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Automation Engineer to join our team at Belcan. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading electrical, controls, and automation engineering and design for Capital Projects, working with a cross-functional team of engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical, controls, and automation engineering and design for Capital Projects
- Develop Capital Project scopes of work, support the creation of engineering and design project schedules, and create requests for proposal for Capital Project engineering and design services
- Provide oversight and technical support for the creation of project engineering and design deliverables
- Support responses to consultant and contractor requests for information during engineering, construction, and commissioning
- Provide engineering support to the construction team during construction closeout activities and commissioning activities
- Provide technical coaching and training of Factory engineering resources, local PMO engineering resources, and 3rd party consultants
- Support the review and approval of project approval drawings and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience with control systems design in a food, beverage, or industrial manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of Electrical Safety and Hazardous Energy Control Procedures (HECP)
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electric Code), electrical installation, and wiring practices
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs
- Requires daily walking through a construction site
- Steel toe shoes are required
- Must be able to work autonomously
- Strong Communication/Writing Capabilities
- Competency in PLC (Rockwell Automation, Modicon) and PC-Based -HMI/SCADA (iFIX and Ignition) design, programming, and implementation
- Competency in Safety Instrumented System design, programming, and validation
- Competency in PC operating systems and Industrial Networking
- Competency in use Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work with a cross-functional team of engineers, operations, and maintenance team members
- Ability to read and interpret control schematics, wiring diagrams, power distribution single-line diagrams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with machine risk assessments
- Familiarity with power distribution
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, Adobe Acrobat
- Competency in Siemens PLC design, programming, and implementation
