Medical Assistant

As a Medical Assistant in our Primary Care team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive care experience. You will work closely with our healthcare team to provide clinical and administrative support, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Tasks- Prepare patients for office visits by ensuring all necessary tests and clinical information are ready for review.
- Collect and document patient data, including vital signs, medical history, and current medications.
- Identify and address health maintenance gaps with patients and alert clinicians as needed.
- Recognize signs and symptoms of common medical illnesses and report to clinicians.
- Prepare patients for exams and procedures, ensuring the exam room is equipped with necessary supplies and equipment.
- Perform diagnostic tests, therapies, and procedures within the scope of authorized duties, maintaining proficiency and adhering to department standards.
- Administer medications via various routes, including oral, topical, and intradermal.
- Provide wound care, including routine dressing changes and staple/suture removal.
- Assist with minor surgical procedures, such as biopsies and excisions.
- Maintain and adjust clinicians' patient schedules for efficient patient flow.
- Respond to incoming messages and requests from patients and other departments, collecting and communicating pertinent data.
- Facilitate follow-up duties on patients' plans of care, including processing prescriptions and forms, and scheduling procedures and tests.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Basic Life Support certification within 1 month of hire.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- 1-2+ years of experience in a medical assistant position in an ambulatory care setting.
- Current National Medical Assistant Certification.
- Familiarity with documenting in an electronic medical record system.
