Medical Assistant I

The Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant I to join our team. As a Medical Assistant I, you will work closely with our healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care and support.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patient charts and verify availability of supplies and equipment.
- Direct patient flow and room turnover in assigned areas.
- Communicate with patients and families to ensure a smooth visit.
- Provide assistance with ambulation and wheelchair or walker use.
- Coordinate interpreter services as needed.
- Accurately document medical information in patients' records.
- Perform vital signs, diagnostic tests, and laboratory tests.
- Administer medication and immunizations as ordered by providers.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of Medical Assistant training program and certification.
- One year previous medical assistant experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS)/Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
Our clinic is a well-lighted, ventilated environment with exposure to blood borne pathogens and potentially hazardous chemicals.
Staff members must meet immunization requirements as stated in VGMHC's immunization policy and state and federal guidelines.
