We are seeking a detail-oriented and communicative Healthcare Pre-Authorization Specialist to join our team.

Salary: $45,000 - $65,000 per year based on location and experience.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain authorizations as needed.
  • Communicate with patients, departments, and providers to ensure seamless care.
  • Track and report service issues arising from authorization requests.
  • Obtain clinical documentation from multiple EMRs and paper records for submission to payers.

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years of experience in medical office or hospital setting.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Benefits:

  • Cerner and Athena EMR experience preferred.
  • Experian experience an asset.

What You Will Do:

You will be responsible for reviewing scheduled patients' services, obtaining insurance benefits, and authorizing necessary treatments. Your daily work will involve interacting with insurance carriers, tracking progress, and escalating issues that delay service. You will also maintain contact with patients, departments, and providers to keep them informed. In addition, you will participate in group discussions regarding the effectiveness of service, review results, and participate in Performance Improvement activities.
