Job Summary

The Cincinnati, OH VA Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Physician to serve as the Section Chief for the Hematology/Oncology Section. As a key member of our team, you will provide leadership and direction to our clinical operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and exceptional service to our Veterans.

Responsibilities
  • Provide effective leadership and management of the Hematology/Oncology Section, including staff supervision and development.
  • Collaborate with Service Chiefs, Section Chiefs, and Medical Center management to achieve mission, goals, and objectives in patient care, education, and research.
  • Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of patient care and safety.
  • Participate in administrative assignments, such as committee membership, including Chair of the Cancer Care Committee.
  • Provide direct care to inpatients and participate in the clinical education of undergraduate and graduate medical trainees.
  • Pursue research opportunities and contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge in the field of Hematology/Oncology.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must have a Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Must have a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Must have completed residency training in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification in Hematology/Oncology.
  • Must be board certified or board eligible in Hematology/Oncology.
