Job Summary

The Veterans Health Administration is seeking a highly skilled Physician to serve as the Section Chief of the Hematology/Oncology Section at our medical center. As a key member of our team, you will provide leadership and direction to the section, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and education to trainees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide effective leadership and management of the Hematology/Oncology section, including staff supervision and development.
  • Collaborate with Service Chiefs, Section Chiefs, and Medical Center management to achieve mission, goals, and objectives in patient care, education, and research.
  • Develop and implement business plans to improve section operations and patient outcomes.
  • Participate in administrative assignments, such as committee membership, including Chair of the Cancer Care Committee.
  • Provide direct care to inpatients and participate in the clinical education of undergraduate and graduate medical trainees.
Requirements
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Hematology/Oncology.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
