Position Title: Chief Engineer
Company: Summit Hospitality Incorporated
SUMMARY: The Chief Engineer at Summit Hospitality is accountable for the overall upkeep of guest accommodations, meeting facilities, communal areas, and operational spaces within the property. This role involves direct oversight from the General Managers and encompasses the repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen, and laundry systems, along with the exterior physical assets of the hotel. The Chief Engineer will also lead and manage a team of engineers and maintenance personnel on a daily basis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-3 years of experience in maintenance or facilities management
- Proficient in computer applications
- Team-oriented with a focus on achieving goals
- Experience in repairing mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry systems
- Able to provide training and guidance to team members on routine repairs and technical tasks
- Capable of managing and directing external vendors and contractors
- Skilled in identifying potential safety hazards and addressing them promptly
- Excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated capacity to handle multiple tasks effectively
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Strong command of the English language, including speaking, writing, and reading
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Customer service-oriented mindset
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Ensure guest satisfaction through friendly and helpful service
· Maintain HVAC systems, boilers, electrical systems, carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, and landscaping
· Conduct preventative maintenance to uphold hotel quality standards
· Assist in repairing general plumbing systems, including toilets, fixtures, sinks, kitchen, and laundry equipment
· Proactively troubleshoot and assist engineers with IT and building systems
· Support established policies and procedures in line with corporate and brand standards
· Facilitate training initiatives for hotel staff
· Help maintain properties to meet or exceed Quality Assurance audit standards
· Lead the implementation of hotel safety procedures and participate in the Safety Committee
· Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
