Job Overview

Enterprise Solutions and Management (ESM) is a dynamic government contractor dedicated to delivering strategic IT services tailored to meet the mission requirements of Defense and Federal clients. We are seeking a Configuration Management Specialist for a significant role.

Key Responsibilities

This position involves supporting a critical environment for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), which encompasses around 75,000 business users operating on CBP-approved Windows or Mac baseline operating systems (OS). The program encompasses Engineering, Operations, Cybersecurity, and Service Management, focusing on:

  • Windows 10 and Windows 11 platforms managed through Microsoft Endpoint Management solutions, including Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Microsoft Intune, within a hybrid Azure and on-premises co-managed Active Directory.
  • MacOS environments (MacOS Monterey, Big Sur, Catalina) utilizing Casper Administration Management (CAM) and JAMF mobile device management systems, which leverage on-premises Active Directory for device management.

Primary Duties

  • Implement and maintain configuration management processes in compliance with Presidential Executive orders, Federal regulations, CISA Binding Operational Directives, DOD Security Technical Implementation Guidelines, and DHS policies.
  • Ensure that workstations and software in pre-production and testing environments are accurately configured to align with the CBP production environment, including version control, configuration item identification, tracking, and management of software and hardware licenses.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)

  • Proven experience in developing and executing Configuration Management processes.
  • Ability to support ServiceNow workflows and facilitate end-user communications; coordinate service provisioning and incident/problem resolution.

  • Effective communication skills with team members, leadership, management, and government clients.
  • Capability and eagerness to research and devise innovative solutions to unique challenges with minimal supervision.

Minimum Training, Education, and Certifications

  • Management Analyst; Minimum Experience: 3 years.
  • Substitution guidelines apply based on education and experience.

Clearance Requirements

  • Must pass a CBP Background Investigation.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, walk, and sit; communicate verbally in person and by phone; use hands to manipulate objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Physical demands may include extensive walking throughout offices and between buildings. May require the use of a personal or Government vehicle for travel to various office locations.
