Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Service Worker/Kitchen Helper/Dietary Aide to join our team at Healthcare Services Group. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for assisting the Cook in the preparation and service of meals, ensuring that quality food service is provided at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Cook in the preparation and service of meals
  • Place prepared food on plates/trays following tray tickets in line with our established policies and procedures
  • Deliver food and trays to residents and staff
  • Wash dishes and clean and sanitize the kitchen according to health standards
  • Utilize protective gear in all appropriate functions
  • Report equipment/cleaning product needs and or malfunctions to supervisor in a timely fashion
  • Ensure the established standards, safety, and quality guidelines are met
  • Follow infection control and universal precautions policies and procedures to ensure that a sanitary environment is achieved at all times
Requirements
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude with the ability to follow oral and written instructions, and perform routine, repetitive tasks daily
  • After completing all appropriate training, utilize leadership skills to accomplish all responsibilities without supervision and do so without injury to oneself or other individuals
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Specialized training in food service is desirable
  • May be required to complete an approved sanitation and safety course
Working Conditions

The Food Service Worker/Kitchen Helper/Dietary Aide will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with frequent exposure to food, cleaning products, and other chemicals. The position requires the ability to lift/carry a maximum of 30 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
