Our accounting internship program provides an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the practice of public accounting and integrate this experience with their formal education. As a Brady Ware & Schoenfeld, Inc. Intern, you will work full-time during tax busy season and gain valuable experience working with our team in various areas of tax and audit.

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain a solid understanding of trial balance, general ledger, tax preparation, depreciation, and amortization software used by the Tax department.
  • Develop skills to calculate and prepare fixed asset depreciation schedules on different book and tax bases.
  • Learn to input client's working trial balance into software and adjust.
  • Manage time invested in engagements wisely, including sensitivity to budget constraints and maintaining an accurate work-in-progress schedule of work assigned.
  • Prepare tax returns (individual and business) for review.
  • Develop skills to cope with the demanding multi-tasking nature of public accounting.
  • Learn to practice basic preparation skills for federal and state tax returns.

Requirements:

  • Junior or Senior undergrad or enrolled in Master's program
  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week.
  • Must be willing to work up to 50 hours a week during peak periods.
  • Students must be a declared Accounting major or working towards a degree plan which includes 150 college credit hours required to take the CPA exam.
  • Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Desire to learn and meet new challenges.
  • Commitment to teamwork
