Position Title: HVAC Chiller Service Technician
Position Summary: We are currently seeking an HVAC Chiller Service Technician to conduct maintenance, repairs, modifications, and troubleshooting of various chiller systems, including centrifugal, screw, reciprocating, and scroll chillers, as well as refrigeration units, boilers, and unitary HVAC systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on chiller and boiler units, focusing on electrical and mechanical components. This includes:
- Maintaining equipment such as chillers, compressors, purge units, cooling towers, pumps, motors, valves, and boilers.
- Keeping detailed records, including refrigeration and operational logs.
- Working with chiller and boiler components, refrigeration units, meters, relays, sensors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), switches, controllers, gauges, thermostats, and similar devices.
- Perform major repairs on chillers and boilers, which includes:
- Adhering to EPA guidelines for refrigerant recovery, and replacing O-rings, gaskets, seals, bearings, and other critical components.
- Conducting boiler inspections and preventive maintenance according to state regulations.
- Service cooling tower gearboxes, drive couplings, intermediate shafts, fan blade pitches, centrifugal pumps, and seals.
- Demonstrate proficiency with equipment brands such as Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, Smardt, and McQuay for chillers.
- Show expertise with boiler brands including Cleaver Brooks, Hurst, Lochinvar, Fulton, HB Smith, and Patterson Kelly.
- Utilize CFC and HCFC refrigerant recovery equipment, maintain accurate records, and perform all service and maintenance in compliance with EPA regulations.
- Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary vocational or technical school diploma in HVAC or Refrigeration from an accredited institution, or completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Must possess a clean driving record.
- Experience with boilers and steam systems is advantageous.
- EPA Certification is required.
