Position Summary The Multimedia Content Coordinator is a creative visual communicator with a passion for storytelling, innovative concepts, and a dynamic approach.

This role involves overseeing the ideation, creation, and production of video and photographic content intended for digital dissemination across various social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

The Coordinator will focus on producing rapid content that capitalizes on social media trends and campaign requirements.

Projects may highlight student experiences, faculty insights, research initiatives, human interest narratives, branded content, and event documentation.

This position collaborates closely with teams in University Communication's (UCOMM) social media, news and media, integrated marketing, and digital strategy to create content that effectively engages target audiences and enhances awareness of CMU.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree.
One year of experience; may include internship experience in a creative role with a robust portfolio of work.
Proficiency in video and audio recording.
Ability to visually narrate stories and craft compelling narratives.
Video editing skills using Adobe Creative Suite.
Strong understanding of current trends and best practices in audience engagement through multimedia projects.
Familiarity with social media platforms and the latest trends in multimedia applications.
Availability for occasional evening and weekend work.
Demonstrated strong communication and project management skills.
Exhibits an energetic and positive demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cinematography lighting is advantageous (lighting interviews, sets, etc.).
Photography skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

Creates daily content for CMU's primary social media channels.
Assists in the delivery and distribution of completed projects.
Captures, edits, and shares photo and video content tailored for various stakeholder audiences.
Covers campus events, conducting and recording interviews and b-roll.
Proposes and develops creative and innovative concepts.
Collaborates with other content creators, writers, social media personnel, web designers, photographers, etc.
Effectively manages multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
