Assistant Controller

Jobot is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes.
Responsibilities:- Oversee the daily operations of our Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable departments, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and processed.
- Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations, monitoring internal controls and identifying potential risks or issues.
- Supervise a team of financial staff, providing guidance and support, and fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports and statements, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to improve financial processes and systems.
- Participate in audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
- Assist with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and legislative changes that may impact our financial operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or a professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the Construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
- Proven experience in monitoring internal controls and managing risks.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role, with a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A solid understanding of financial regulations and standards in the Mortgage industry.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, and to work effectively under pressure.
