Job Title: Certified Nurse Assistant

At the University of Virginia, we are seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant to join our team. As a Certified Nurse Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Job Summary:

The Certified Nurse Assistant will work under the supervision of Medical Center professionals in an inpatient or outpatient setting or in a patient's home. The successful candidate will assist patients with personal care as needed for optimal recovery during hospitalization, perform basic nursing skills as delegated by an RN, and provide for a safe environment and safe delivery of care.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist patients with personal care as needed for optimal recovery during hospitalization.
  • Perform basic nursing skills as delegated by an RN and in accordance with policy and procedure to promote patient health and wellness.
  • Provide for a safe environment and safe delivery of care.
  • Perform administrative support functions.
  • Maintain necessary skills and competencies.
Requirements:
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent.
  • No experience required. Relevant experience preferred.
  • Certified Nursing Aide certification (CNA) through the Virginia Board of Nursing.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Physical Demands:

Job requires frequently bending/stooping and driving (Home Health Aide only). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 – 50lbs and > 100lbs (Home Health Aide only).
