Position Overview:
This role within the Clinical and Patient Care Services Division focuses on delivering clinical pharmacy services, which encompass order verification, clinical monitoring, and support for pharmacy and departmental initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
- Exhibiting exemplary skills as a clinical pharmacy practitioner and showcasing the significance of pharmacy services.
- Providing clinical pharmacy services primarily to General Medicine departments and their respective patient populations.
- Educating medical, nursing, and pharmacy personnel on the management, prescribing, and monitoring of therapies pertinent to patient care.
- Acting as a resource for the Department of Pharmacy in areas of specialization.
- Engaging in departmental and hospital committees and initiatives relevant to the practice area.
- Contributing to the education of students and residents.
- Delivering educational presentations and participating in research initiatives.
- Collaborating with colleagues to meet division and departmental objectives.
- Taking charge of personal and professional development.
- Maintaining awareness of all departmental programs and functioning as an integral member of the pharmacy team.
- Assuming additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Doctor of Pharmacy Degree or BS Pharmacy Degree.
Experience:
- For candidates with a BS Pharmacy degree, a minimum of two years of pharmacy practice experience, or acceptable board certification, or completion of an accredited residency program with a proven ability to achieve positive patient outcomes in a similar setting is required.
- For candidates with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, no prior experience is necessary.
- Preferred: 2+ years of practice experience, PGY1 or Pharmacy Practice Residency, and PGY2 Residency training or experience in Internal Medicine.
Licensure:
- Must be a licensed pharmacist or eligible to practice pharmacy in North Carolina.
