Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team at Independent School District 196. The successful candidate will provide support to students with special needs, assisting with communication, data collection, and implementation of intervention strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist staff, parents, and students with communication and data collection
Implement intervention strategies developed by licensed staff
Assist with crisis interventions and discipline
Instruct individual students following programs designed by lead teacher
Reinforce lessons with small groups of students

Requirements:

High School diploma AND two years of college OR Associate's degree OR MN passing score on the ParaEducator test
Effective behavior management and health support skills
Effective communication and teamwork skills for interactions with staff, students, and parents
Experience working in a center-based and inclusion setting

Working Conditions:

Ability to work outdoors with students and staff in a variety of weather conditions
Must be able to perform the essential job functions, which may include toileting, catheters, lifting, medication administration, gastric tube feedings, health tasks to support student, pool, DAPE

Compensation:

RAVE Clerical Association, Wage Group V - According to contractual agreement. (based on contract)
Step 1 - $20.65/hour
Step 2 - $21.91/hour
Step 3 - $23.16/hour
Employees in the paraprofessional classification, according to contractual agreement, shall receive a $1.00 per hour differential in addition to their hourly base rate.
