Advanced Practice Clinician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Advanced Practice Practitioner to join our team at MAHEC. As a key member of our OB-GYN department, you will provide exceptional primary health care to obstetrical and gynecological patients, while also participating in residents' education and in-service training for nursing staff.
Responsibilities- 90% Clinical Outpatient: Provide collaborative primary health care to obstetrical and gynecological patients, including history and physical exams, Pap smears, cervical and vaginal cultures, and vaginal smears. Order laboratory and diagnostic tests as indicated, manage common gynecological problems, and provide contraceptive measures consistent with clinical skill.
- 10% Administrative: Provide nursing education, participate in residents' education, assure quality and safe service, and enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
- Communication Skills: Effectively communicate with colleagues, patients, and patient families, enumerating information in a manner easily understood by all parties.
- Decision Making: Make appropriate decisions in given situations, taking the next steps to ensure timely completion, and prioritize workday tasks accordingly.
- Healthcare Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on new breakthroughs in your area of expertise, communicate them to the team, and apply knowledge in real-life scenarios.
- Interpersonal Skills: Meet difficult situations with grace, professionalism, and understanding, showing respect and empathy with colleagues, patients, and families.
- Organizational Values: Adhere to MAHEC's founding principles, incorporating them into daily work, and manage change while displaying a clear understanding of organizational dynamics.
- Problem Solving: Analyze complex problems, work autonomously to solve them, and apply new ideas to drive continuous improvement.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program
- 3 years of experience working as a NP or PA in an OBGYN clinic
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Excellent administrative, planning, and communication skills, with ability to function independently
Position reports to the Medical Director, MAHEC Department of OB/Gyn.
Working EnvironmentPosition requires ability to handle multiple and competing priorities, with occasional or routine exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous chemicals, etc.
