At VML South Africa, we're on a mission to revolutionize the way we think about marketing and strategy. As a Managing Director, Strategy, you'll be at the forefront of our human-centered approach, driving impactful experiences that resonate with our clients and their customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality research, translating insights into actionable analysis for clients or pitches.
  • Challenge the team's analytical thinking to ensure clear, compelling, and actionable insights.
  • Guide junior strategists in developing skills in analysis and insight mining.
  • Oversee and guide brief development in collaboration with internal partners.
  • Partner with Creative Directors to ensure creative work aligns with strategy and reflects our best possible work.
  • Inspire and challenge the team to take creative risks.
  • Propose and sell-in high-impact, profitable workshops.
  • Develop innovative new types of workshop offerings to drive businesses.
  • A proven track record of influencing award-winning creative work.

Requirements:

  • Years of experience in overall strategic planning and brand-building, having worked across complex brand portfolios.
  • Breadth of global experience, ideally across a combination of travel and hospitality, CPG, luxury, or loyalty.
  • Managerial experience, including leading and building a team.
  • Multidisciplinary background in developing marketing strategy, consumer insights, and brand planning.
