Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the store in the absence of the store manager, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently.
- Assist the store manager in promoting an aggressive sales culture and providing exceptional customer service.
- Responsible for maintaining a highly motivated team by assisting the store manager in hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplining, and firing of team members.
- Assist the store manager in the execution and performance of all store job responsibilities through key associates and/or own actions.
- Provides feedback to the office, including buyers, district managers, and other company officials.
- Achieves financial objectives by assisting the store manager in the preparation of an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
- Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with actual and potential customers.
- Establish relationships and support local community groups consistent with company values.
- Solicits customers to sign up for Family Farm and Home programs, including loyalty programs, extended warranties, financing, and item of the month.
- Responsible for managing and protecting all inventory and company assets in accordance with company policy against theft and damage.
- Verifies merchandise is received, stored, and merchandised in all departments according to established operational and safety procedures.
- Protects team members and customers while maintaining the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements and providing a safe and clean store environment.
- Assists the store manager in determining marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements and departmental sales records.
- Assists the store manager in maintaining consistent operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational and personnel policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage with limited supervision.
- Good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers, vendors, and other associates.
- Aggressive customer service and team-oriented mindset.
- Good management and organizational skills.
- Ability to understand and interpret data presented in statistical or numerical form and use it effectively in assessing and coordinating merchandise and operational aspects of store operations.
- Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures, climb up and down ladders, reach, bend, twist, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
