Job Description

**Job Title:** Winter Operations Manager - McMurdo

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Winter Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of McMurdo Station during the Austral winter season.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Manage and coordinate the activities of the postal, janitorial, recreation, retail, and rooms coordination teams.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, health, and waste management policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and train staff to ensure they are equipped to handle the demands of the winter season.
  • Coordinate with CONUS management to ensure seamless communication and decision-making.
  • Manage the McMurdo Station Post Office, including sorting and distribution of mail.
  • Assist with retail operations and provide customer service to the McMurdo community.

**Requirements:**

  • Four years of supervisory experience required.
  • Previous experience in military APO operations, restaurant, beverage, retail, recreation, or janitorial experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills with word processing, spreadsheets, and databases required.

**Certifications and Licenses:**

  • Required postal certification.
  • Current ServSafe Food Handler certification.

**Special Conditions:**

  • Must be able to complete annual APO training and required FEMA courses.
