The Event Houseperson is a key member of our team at Creative Culinary Management, responsible for ensuring the flawless execution of events. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Key Responsibilities- Execute event setup, arrangement, and breakdown, including supporting the arrangement of chairs, linens, furniture, equipment, and other needs according to event specifications.
- Maintain a polished, presentable, and neat appearance at all times, while exhibiting professional etiquette.
- Set up rooms according to BEO and Floor Plan.
- Address maintenance issues or hazards promptly and efficiently.
- Perform routine inspections to ensure spaces are clean, safe, and presentable.
- Move large, heavy, and fragile items/furniture for set-up of events and breakdown.
- Set up tables, chairs, cocktail tables, high boys, satellite bars, easels.
- Break down after every event and store in appropriate areas.
- Box linen when needed for an event.
- Stock and organize all event items, collateral, rentals, etc.
- Support with inventory counts and needs.
- Place all protective gear for load in and load out.
- Make necessary changes to the space throughout events as needed and/or upon client request.
- Operate ethically to protect the assets and image of the company.
- Perform other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as per business need.
- Prior experience in a banquet event set-up/maintenance role, preferably in a high-end, upscale setting, and/or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, across all levels within the organization.
- Be proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team cooperatively.
- Able to take direction and work in an ever-changing environment with multiple priorities.
- Must have open availability, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing 75 pounds on a regular basis.
- Must be able to safely push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the property. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, climb steps regularly, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
The base pay range for this position is $18 - $20 per hour. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications, and skills, etc.
