Position Overview:

The Customer Service Representative at Metal Exchange Corporation is essential in delivering exceptional service, managing inventory, and facilitating transportation logistics for our operations. This role demands effective communication with both internal teams and external clients to ensure seamless service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Logistics Coordination:

  • Oversee and ensure accurate and timely transportation and documentation as per contractual obligations.
  • Proactively manage carrier arrangements to guarantee prompt pickups and deliveries.
  • Collaborate with production teams to determine shipment schedules.
  • Coordinate with vendors for load scheduling and communicate any necessary adjustments.
  • Document and maintain shipment records accurately.
  • Dispatch shipments according to customer specifications.
  • Initiate and manage pre-shipment inspections.
  • Handle invoicing for cash-on-delivery customers.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations concerning all shipping containers and related documentation.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain precise inventory records for raw materials, incoming goods, and finished products to support accurate physical counts and cost assessments.
  • Document all incoming materials into finished goods inventory.
  • Generate finished goods from the appropriate raw material categories as required.
  • Assign correct cost of goods sold to respective shipments.
  • Address inventory discrepancies, returns, and conversions as necessary.

Administrative Duties:

  • Deliver timely and effective customer service to all stakeholders.
  • Manage procurement of office and warehouse supplies.
  • Oversee purchasing programs related to raw materials.
  • Handle miscellaneous accounts payable tasks, including coding and documentation.
  • Manage petty cash transactions.
  • Facilitate invoicing for yard sales.
  • Ensure proper deposit of checks received from customers.
  • Conduct data entry for payroll and related transactions.
  • Oversee daily office operations and responsibilities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in transportation and inventory management is advantageous.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Detail-oriented with strong multitasking capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
