Position Summary

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Adjunct positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs.


Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean, helping students master course content, assessing student learning outcomes, and maintaining a thorough knowledge of their teaching field. Additionally, they will be expected to continue professional development, utilize current technology, and maintain professional conduct and ethics.


Teaching Responsibilities

The instructional assignment may encompass teaching courses across all levels in this discipline. Specific courses offered may vary by campus. Courses for this assignment may include:

  • BIT 102: Plan Reading and Non-Structural Plan Review
  • BIT 104: International Building Code - Fire & Life Safety
  • BIT 106: Introduction to Special Inspection- Concrete, Masonry, Steel, and Soils
  • BIT 112: Building Inspection Principles for Disabled Access
  • BIT 120: Mechanical I/Plumbing Code Requirements
  • BIT 121: Mechanical II / H.V.A.C. Code Requirement

Minimum Qualifications
  1. Have a bachelor's degree AND two years of occupational and/or professional experience directly related to the assignment being taught OR have an associate's degree AND six years of occupational and/or professional experience directly related to the assignment being taught; OR the equivalent.
  2. Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
