Job Title: Senior Linux Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Linux Systems Engineer to join our team at eTeam Inc. As a key member of our Operations department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our strategic CyberSource customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and support payment services for key strategic CyberSource customers in the Client Command Center.
  • Provide a high-touch customer experience by gaining a solid understanding of the Payment Ecosystem and how CyberSource services and solutions provide value.
  • Become knowledgeable of the major business processes of strategic customers and how they use payment services provided by CyberSource.
  • Communicate effectively with internal technical staff, customer support, and external customers through verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bridge the gap between technical staff and customers during incidents and implementation of changes.
  • Support applications in Linux environments and troubleshoot network, database, and system issues.
  • Use scripting skills to generate reports based on contractual requirements, work requests, and incidents.
  • Manipulate SQL queries and shell scripts to provide business and impact analysis.
  • Investigate and identify root causes of incidents and problems based on customer information, business operations results, application behavior, and log data.
  • Quickly gauge the scope and criticality of impacts or potential impacts from incidents and changes.
  • Work closely with technical support teams and customer support to ensure incidents and work requests are closed out.
  • Review and identify areas for improvement within documented procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library Foundation Certificate is a plus.
  • Six Sigma Certification is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a Linux environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting highly available systems.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks under duress.
  • Proven technical aptitude and desire to learn.
  • Experience with Ask Now, JIRA, Netcool, or other industry-standard monitoring and ticketing tools.
Additional Information:
  • This is a 24x7 support group with rotating and alternating shifts.
  • Overtime is required as requested to support absences, training, and workload.
  • This is a support role in an Operations department that requires shift work.
