Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage Special Systems databases, graphics, and programming in accordance with the specifications provided by the Design Specialist or project guidelines.
- Ensure precise control during the start-up and commissioning of special systems, including thorough point-to-point verification on assigned projects. Confirm the correct functioning of alarms, annunciation, and other actions by equipment and devices.
- Assist installation teams on-site.
- Provide guidance and support to other contractors on the project site.
- Troubleshoot installation challenges during both static and dynamic phases of building special systems start-up and commissioning.
- Collaborate with Climatec and other contractors to address building operational issues beyond special systems functionality.
- Contribute insights as needed to facilitate accurate estimation, design, installation, start-up, commissioning, and training for building systems.
- Prepare start-up documentation, including daily logs and commissioning records, as required for assigned projects.
- Ensure timely backups of software for projects and development efforts.
- Deliver service support for existing installations, ensuring compliance with occupancy codes.
- Maintain and support existing systems to ensure their effective operation, providing ongoing assistance to building engineers.
- Complete necessary paperwork, including time sheets and service work orders, accurately and promptly.
- Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and Operation & Maintenance Manuals.
- Facilitate the transition of projects from the Operations Team to the Service Team.
- Support the Sales team during the estimating phase, including potential product or system demonstrations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in Security & Fire Alarm Systems or equivalent technical training.
- Basic understanding of computer operations.
- Clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Over two years of experience in Security & Fire Alarm Systems.
- NICET Certification.
- Additional technical certifications or coursework related to Security & Fire Alarm Systems, Electronics, or Computer Science.
- Familiarity with relevant programming languages.
- Proficient in troubleshooting computer and networking issues.
- Experience with electronic equipment such as voltmeters and oscilloscopes.
- Ability to interpret electrical and electronic diagrams and troubleshoot basic circuitry.
- Understanding of AC power circuitry, including breakers and multi-phase power.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with an understanding of diverse perspectives.
- For Level 2 and Senior System Specialists: Extensive knowledge of DDC or special systems controlling buildings.
- Awareness of Climatec's culture and the industry environment, particularly for Level 2 and Senior System Specialists.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ability to lift and carry ladders, drawings, and materials.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to spend considerable time standing and walking on construction sites.
- Ability to climb stairs or ladders throughout the day.
- Maintain a satisfactory driving record in accordance with company policy.
- Physically capable of kneeling, stooping, and crawling.
