Job Summary

Aero Automatic Sprinkler Company is seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Specialist to join our team. As a Fire Alarm Specialist, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and modifying fire alarm and detection systems to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install new fire alarm systems and components
  • Inspect and test fire protection or fire detection systems to verify compliance with laws, codes, and regulations
  • Identify corrective actions necessary to bring alarm and detection systems into compliance and explain these measures to property owners or their representatives
  • Make modifications and/or repairs to existing alarm and detection systems
  • Attend training classes to maintain current knowledge of fire codes, regulations, and alarm systems
  • Respond to service calls for alarm and detection systems, including emergency calls during non-standard working hours
  • Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities, or determine time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • Experience in Fire Protection/Life Safety industry
  • Experience with fire detection systems, including VESDA, FM200, and other gas extinguishing systems
  • Knowledge of functions associated with testing of fire alarms, access control, and security systems
  • Complete knowledge of low voltage wiring, especially troubleshooting
  • High level of knowledge and application of National Fire Alarm Code
  • Thoroughly capable of reading, interpreting, and applying system design plans, as well as building construction drawings and documents
