About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Viva Senior Living as a Medication Administration Specialist, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to administer medications to our residents, accurately record administration, and observe for any adverse reactions. As a Medication Administration Specialist, you will work closely with our healthcare team to provide exceptional care and maintain a safe and healthy environment.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications to residents as prescribed by physicians, following established policies and procedures.
  • Accurately record medication administration, including dosage, time, and resident response.
  • Monitor residents for signs of medication interactions, adverse reactions, or side effects.
  • Determine the effectiveness of medications and report findings to the Resident Care Director.
  • Store medications safely and securely, adhering to facility policies and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of medication inventory, ordering, and disposal.
Requirements
  • Certification as a Registered Medication Aide (RMA) or equivalent.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
  • Compassion, empathy, and understanding of the needs of older adults.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, and pull medication carts and supplies, up to 25 pounds, as needed.
