Job Summary

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electric Propulsion Engineer to join the Kuiper propulsion team as a subject matter expert for the electric propulsion system. The successful candidate will advise test, manufacturing, and mechanical engineers on electric propulsion best practices and perform analyses to support data reviews, development, and verification testing and root cause investigations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise test, manufacturing, and mechanical engineers on electric propulsion best practices
  • Perform analyses to support data reviews, development, and verification testing and root cause investigations
  • Perform trade studies to inform propulsion system design improvements
  • Support development of all design modifications from conception, manufacture, and testing through integration in production units
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, EE, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience with electric propulsion technologies through design or test
  • Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, 3+ years of developing electric propulsion technologies through design & test cycles, experience with Design of Experiments (DOE), familiarity with electric circuit design, experience with finite element analysis for electromagnetic fields and/or fluid flow

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
