The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking qualified individuals to join our team as part-time Clinical Educators in the Surgical Technology program. This role is essential in providing high-quality education and clinical supervision to students in the field of Surgical Technology.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Educator, your primary duties will include:

  • Supervising clinical experiences at affiliated healthcare facilities.
  • Assessing student performance during surgical procedures.
  • Evaluating students' theoretical knowledge in Surgical Technology.
  • Providing individualized tutoring sessions as required.
  • Collecting and analyzing instructional data to enhance the learning experience.
  • Acting as a liaison between the educational institution and clinical environments.

It is imperative for Clinical Educators to stay updated with advancements in their field and trends in community college education.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must possess the following:

  • An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience within the last five years.
  • Current CPR BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.

Preferred Qualifications:
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are advantageous:

  • Prior experience as a clinical instructor.
  • Eligibility for licensure with the Virginia Board of Medicine.

Successful candidates will demonstrate exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage with a diverse student population.
