About Urgent Care for Kids

Urgent Care for Kids, part of Goodside Health, operates 23 clinic locations across Texas, providing comprehensive child healthcare services through multiple channels, including brick-and-mortar pediatric urgent care, adult and pediatric telemedicine, and our school-based program, SchoolMed.

The Role

We are seeking skilled and adaptable Utility Players for our Channelview and Humble office who embody our core values: Passion, Humility, Adaptability, Nurture, and Experience. These roles are typically filled by Certified Medical Assistants and Licensed Vocational Nurses who exemplify true teamwork.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage patients upon arrival and communicate with the provider when the patient is ready.
  • Document and summarize visits in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
  • Assist the provider with procedures and patient care, including splinting, radiology, vaccines, medication administration, phlebotomy, and more.
  • Prepare, clean, and maintain exam and treatment rooms.
  • Provide patient education at the end of the visit and address any follow-up questions.
Requirements
  • Passion for working with children.
  • Experience in a Pediatric Office, Pediatric Hospital, or Urgent Care within the past 3 years, with a minimum duration of 6 months.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with a Texas license.
  • BLS certification required (online renewal accepted by the American Heart Association).
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, basic clinical procedures, CLIA-Waived Testing, and EMR software.
