Job Title: Social Worker II

OU Health is seeking a skilled Social Worker II to join our team at OU Medical Center. As a key member of our Behavioral Health team, you will provide therapeutic services to adult and pediatric inpatients who require mental health services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide social services to patients and their families, conducting therapeutic interviews and making psychosocial and diagnostic assessments.
  • Counsel patients and families regarding mental health diseases, treatments, social or financial situations, emotional stress, and other mental health/social problems.
  • Conduct suicide and violence safety assessments, provide crisis counseling, and document sessions.
  • Act as a liaison between patients/families and hospital staff, utilizing available information to evaluate the effectiveness of services provided.
  • Assist in discharge planning, referrals to the community, and post-hospital placement or transfer to an inpatient or outpatient mental health facility when indicated.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Social Work required.
  • Two (2) years of post-graduate Social Work experience in a healthcare setting, with experience in adult or children's behavioral health care preferred.
  • Current Clinical Social Worker license (LCSW) from the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Social Workers required.
