  • Assist with preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, and nutrition breaks to the student population.
  • Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious foods in accordance with the menu and ala carte food items.
  • Receive and stock food supplies, maintaining sanitary conditions.
  • May serve as cashier.
  • Operate dishwasher, mixer, chopper, slicer, steamers, ovens, and other food service and mechanical equipment.
  • Prepare and serve portable food bars where appropriate.
  • Clean and prepare food and equipment in compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Follow standards of safety in preparing, storing, and serving food.
  • Wash cooking equipment and utensils.
  • Perform related work as required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to consistently lift 50 lbs.
  • General knowledge of materials and methods used in preparing and serving food on a large scale.
  • General knowledge of the use or care of food preparation equipment.
  • Skill in the use of standardized and specialized kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using the English language when deemed necessary.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, food preparation instructions, and menus.
  • Knowledge of health and sanitation regulations for food preparation.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, students, and school staff.
