Job Summary:
The restaurant server serves food and beverage to restaurant guests in a timely fashion, ensuring excellent service and guest satisfaction every time. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality service to all guests, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
- Know and live the mission and values of White Lodging, providing exceptional service to every guest.
- Complete all necessary setup, side work, and closing duties as assigned.
- Check the restaurant before, during, and after shifts for cleanliness and remove any debris.
- Be knowledgeable of all menu items, their ingredients, and preparation methods, and be prepared to answer any guest questions in a direct and concise manner.
- Know any daily features and specials the restaurant is offering and use suggestive selling techniques to increase the check average.
- Take guest orders correctly, read the order back to the guest, and ring orders correctly into the point-of-sale system.
- Check food presentation before serving it to the guest, ensuring it is hot and fresh.
- Check guest satisfaction with food quality within two bites and make adjustments as needed.
- Present checks correctly, free from errors, and in a timely manner.
- Follow all White Lodging cash handling policies and end-of-shift paperwork procedures.
- Follow all White Lodging policies and procedures for work, attendance, and uniform standards.
- Learn and maintain all information regarding the hotel and engage in pre-shift meetings to ensure a smooth service.
- Promote teamwork and a friendly, safe work environment.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as required.
