Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a skilled Stone Mason to join our team. As a Stone Mason, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining Hokie Stone building envelopes and site walls to ensure their structural integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, repair, and maintenance activities associated with Hokie Stone building envelopes and site walls.
  • Work under the supervision of the Hokie Stone Manager to ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Operate a motor vehicle daily and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Perform heavy manual labor, including safely moving and handling up to 100 pounds, or more with assistance.
  • Work in all types of weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and receive instructions from supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Related experience in a large commercial or educational setting.
  • Experience erecting scaffolding.
  • Experience operating man lifts.
  • Experience operating Lulls (all-terrain forklift).
  • Experience laying CMU and brick.
  • Experience fabricating flashing components for barrier and cavity stone walls.
