Job Summary

The Assistant Stone Mason will assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of Hokie Stone building envelopes and site walls to ensure structural integrity. This role requires heavy manual labor, including moving and handling heavy items, climbing, and working at elevated heights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation of Hokie Stone building envelopes and site walls
  • Perform repairs and maintenance activities to ensure structural integrity
  • Work with scaffolding and elevated workstations
  • Operate a motor vehicle daily
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with laying rubble and dimensionally sawn stone in barrier and cavity wall construction configurations
  • Related experience in a large commercial or educational setting
  • Experience erecting scaffolding and operating man lifts
  • Experience laying CMU and brick
  • Experience fabricating flashing components for barrier and cavity stone walls
