Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia seeks a skilled Stone Mason to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining Hokie Stone building envelopes and site walls to ensure the structural integrity of our systems and components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and repair Hokie Stone building envelopes and site walls
  • Perform maintenance activities to ensure the structural integrity of our systems and components
  • Work effectively as part of a team to achieve departmental goals
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues

Requirements

  • Verifiable journey-level experience laying rubble stone and dimensionally sawn stone in barrier and cavity wall construction configurations
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor, including safely moving and handling up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions, including extreme temperatures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Related experience in a large commercial or educational setting
  • Experience erecting scaffolding
  • Experience operating man lifts
  • Experience operating Lulls (all-terrain forklift)
