The role of Field Superintendent is crucial for those who are dedicated to their craft, thrive in collaborative environments, and are eager to share best practices. This position involves working on projects that culminate in exquisitely designed spaces that elevate some of the most prestigious luxury brands in the market.

The ideal candidate has the flexibility to work remotely but must be willing to travel to various job sites and commit to extended periods of on-site work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Artisan Stoneworks' project managers in both new construction and renovation projects.
  • Act as the primary on-site liaison with clients' representatives, Artisan field staff, and subcontractors, overseeing all on-site activities for assigned projects.
  • Thoroughly review and comprehend the scope of work for each project, ensuring that on-site project drawings are current.
  • Conduct site surveys, layout, and measure conditions with precision.
  • Provide field dimensions and surveys to project managers for the creation of as-built shop drawings and cut tickets for stone fabrication.
  • Utilize laser levels to assess existing floor substrate heights to establish benchmark heights.
  • Monitor productivity and uphold the quality of work to meet Artisan Stoneworks' standards.
  • Champion job site safety and promptly address any hazards.
  • Facilitate weekly safety meetings and ensure adherence to health and safety protocols and regulations.
  • Complete daily manpower reports and submit them to the project manager weekly.

Required Competencies:

  • Exhibit meticulous organizational skills and the ability to track job progress to meet project objectives.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, along with effective listening abilities.
  • Communicate professionally and persuasively with clients, team members, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain a focus on quality workmanship while being purposeful in decision-making.
  • Possess sound problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate conflicts effectively.
  • Exhibit high attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications:

  • OSHA certification (30 hours/10 hours).
  • In-depth knowledge of construction phases, methods, materials, machinery, and tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, RFIs, and procedure manuals.
  • Skilled in conducting site surveys and taking precise measurements.
  • Proficient in drafting detailed change orders and securing on-site client documentation.
  • Computer proficiency, particularly with AutoCAD.
  • Ability to produce accurate hand sketches of site conditions.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for interactions with clients and subcontractors, as well as with office and on-site teams.
  • Mathematical skills for calculating various dimensions and performing metric conversions.
  • Proven supervisory experience in the commercial construction sector.
  • Willingness to travel to remote job sites for extended periods.
  • Competitive salary starting at $90,000, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package.
