Position Overview

The role of a Storage and Virtualization Administrator is critical in ensuring the seamless operation of our storage and virtualization environments. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of both storage and virtualization methodologies.

Key Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of storage and virtualization processes.
  • Extensive experience with server virtualization technologies and hardware.
  • Proficient in VMware vSphere, including management of ESXi hosts and virtual machines.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve VMware vSphere and hardware-related challenges.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.

Preferred Skills:
  • Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Experience with VMware vCenter and ESXi.
  • Proficiency in maintaining and updating VMware vSphere environments.
  • Experience with Commvault for incremental and full backups.
  • Demonstrated mentorship and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with leadership to standardize operations and uphold consistent standards.
  • Manage employee scheduling to ensure adequate shift coverage.
  • Oversee administrative functions, including timecards and appraisals.
  • Facilitate employee training, mentoring, and professional development.
  • Track employee certifications and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure performance targets are consistently met.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection process for new candidates.
  • Provide occasional support for business development initiatives.
  • Manage remote server and storage operations, preferably with Dell solutions.
  • Attend necessary meetings as required.
  • Build, configure, and maintain virtual machines, servers, and storage solutions.
  • Deliver diagnostics and technical resolutions for local and remote assets.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues using BMC Remedy and ServiceNow.
  • Provide exemplary service by directly assisting customers with their needs.
  • Communicate issues and recommendations clearly to leadership.
  • Document work processes for the Storage and Virtualization team.

Education & Experience:
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 10 years in a related field.

Certifications:
  • Required: Security+ or another qualifying IAT II certification.
  • VMware VCP certification, with the ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
  • Dell VxRail Operate certification, with the ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.

Security Clearance:
  • Active Secret Clearance is preferred.
  • Applicants must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance.

Work Environment:
  • This position requires flexibility to support a 24/7/365 mission, with potential shifts including Day, Swing, and Mid operations.
  • Certification requirements may change based on government directives, with a compliance period provided.
