About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at St. David's Medical Center, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to patients recovering from anesthesia. With a focus on delivering high-quality patient care, you will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure a smooth and safe recovery process.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients
  • Complete age-appropriate assessments and create individualized plans of care
  • Monitor patients throughout the recovery phase and administer IV therapy as needed
  • Recognize and report variations in patient condition to the appropriate individuals
  • Ensure a clean, efficient, and safe environment within the work area

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in PACU/critical care
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - preferred
  • Associates Degree of Nursing (ADN) - required
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) certification - preferred
