Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team at CRH. As an Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various types of construction equipment, including Loaders, Back Hoes, Track Hoes, Haul Trucks, and Water Trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading to ensure a secure work environment.
  • Locate utilities and other buried lines prior to digging to prevent accidents and damage.
  • Perform minor servicing and maintenance on equipment, or refer major problems to the supervisor for resolution.
  • Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards is essential for ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Keep accurate time and material records to ensure efficient project management.
  • Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications is crucial for ensuring the quality of materials used in construction projects.
  • Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit is essential for ensuring safe transportation and handling of materials.
  • Travel from interstate highways to rural dirt roads from various locations, requiring adaptability and flexibility.
  • May assist Laborer at various job sites as needed, performing physical tasks involved with laying pipe and utility lines, and/or tasks involved with road construction and laying asphalt, etc.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
  • Previous heavy equipment operation experience or training is highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.
  • Valid Driver's License is preferred.
