Job Title: RN - Observation Unit Nurse

Cleveland Clinic's Medina Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Observation Unit team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Job Summary:

The Observation Unit Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients with various medical conditions, including pneumonia, diabetes, sepsis, and gastrointestinal issues. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans, ensuring that each patient receives individualized attention and care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients, including administering medications, performing vital signs, and monitoring patient conditions.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, and update patient care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge needs, ensuring a smooth transition to post-acute care.
  • Educate patients and their families on disease management, medication adherence, and self-care techniques.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • One year of current acute care RN experience, with consideration given to military RN experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
